Manchester United are hoping to make hit man Morata a replacement for released Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Everton bound Wayne Rooney.

But Real Madrid have snubbed the most recent bid for him - with previous offers of £61.5m and £70.2m previously declined, according to Goal.

Real are keen to maximise their profits, having splashed £26.3m to buy him back from Juventus last summer.

Morata has been on holiday in Sardinia with his new wife Alice Campello and is understood to have his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

Real return to training next week, with Morata keen to have his future sorted before then.

Jose Mourinho wants to have him at his disposal for United's pre-season tour of the United States - with the party departing on Sunday.

The 24-year-old only started 14 times in Real's La Liga title winning campaign.

United have only signed Victor Lindelof so far this summer - after the defender joined from Benfica for £35m.
