St George's Kilifi banned for two years for cheating

The Coast Secondary Schools Sports Association Disciplinary Committee handed St George's School of Kilifi a two-year ban for fielding 11 ineligible players during the regional games at Mazeras School in Kwale County.

The jury also disqualified the school from representing the region in next week's national games in Nairobi. After the ruling, Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa, who lost in the final two weeks ago, were awarded the trophy and crowned Coast Region champions.

With that, they received the nod to represent the region during the national games at Nairobi School. [Ernest Ndunda]
