College GAMES: Easy start for champions Tambach

Defending champions Tambach made clear their intention of retaining men’s volleyball title after they defeated hosts Kericho 3-0 on the first day of Rift Valley Teachers Training Colleges Games, yesterday, at Kericho Teachers Training College.

Tambach won in straight sets of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-18 to top Pool A with three points.

In Pool B, Baraton Kapsabet defeated Baraton Castello 3-0 ( 25-16, 25-11 and 25-14) in a one-sided match.

Eight colleges are taking part in the three-day competition, whose winners will represent the region in the national championships to be held at the same venue from April 3-7.
