ATHLETICS: Kenyatta University and Local Organising Committee sign memorandum

Kenyatta University was selected as the athletes village for the global games that will bring 2,000 athletes to Kenya.

Kenyatta University and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2017 IAAF World Youth U-18 Championships yesterday signed a memorandum that will see the institution play the hosting village during the championship for competitors.

The global event slated for July 12-16, 2017 will see 2,500 athletes and officials from 165 countries converge in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.

The university will receive Sh700 million from LOC to upgrade its hostels and set up warm track ahead of the youth championship.
