With thousands turning up for the Konshens concert at Ngong’ Racecourse, Nairobi, last weekend, the event’s organisers were forced to allow the crowd in without tickets as security fears and a stampede became real, Pulse can reveal. The crowd estimated at 10,000 people was uncontrollable and at some point a section threatened to force the security barriers in to access the show. This was, arguably, the biggest crowd witnessed in a Nairobi event lately. But what is interesting is that besides Konshens making a good account for himself with a good performance, local acts The Kansoul, Ochungulo, Bensoul, Nviiri and Chris Kaiga were the crowd pullers in a new game changer move that is being witnessed in the local entertainment scene.
