USIU seek first win as MMUST

United States International University (USIU) will be seeking to register their first win of the 2019-20 KRU Championship season when they visit third placed University of Eldoret.

USIU Martials are the only side that has not yet picked a win so far.

Despite that, they benefited from a walkover last weekend after Kisii failed to show up and captain Eliud Mulakoli says they are ready to collect their first maximum points on the pitch.

The Kenya 15s international said they have had enough rest after the walkover and had adequate time to work on their defence and offence.

“We started off slowly after losing two consecutive games, but we are ready to start afresh.

“We utilised the free time we had to work on our mistakes and I am confident we will bag our first win,” he said.

In Mombasa, Strathmore Leos have the chance to stretch their lead at the top of the table when they take on  Mombasa RFC at the Mombasa Sports Club.

The former Kenya Cup side has a 100 per cent record heading into match day four and head the standings with 14 points having garnered three wins and two bonus points.

On the other hand, second-placed Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will also be aiming to continue with their perfect start when they play bottom-placed Kisii RFC at Gusii Stadium.

“The team is focused and hungry to win matches considering our blistering start to the season.

“We head to Kisii very confident of a win with our goal being going top,” MMUST captain Samuel Mbeche said.

In Nairobi, Mean Machine will be seeking to register their second consecutive win of the season when they play Catholic Monks in Karen.

Mean Machine bounced back to winning ways last weekend against Northern Suburbs after a disappointing start.
