Dreaded vigilante crimebuster Saigonpunisher James has issued a stern warning to civilians in Ogunja, ordering anyone in possession of illegal firearms to surrender them to the police.
In a viral clip, now making rounds on social media, shows several men gathered around with one of them, dressed in an orange shirt, casually flaunting a pistol tucked at his waist.
The gun-toting man repeatedly lifted his shirt to reveal the weapon, almost proud of it, while another man off-camera shouts, "Usirudishe, usirudishe... hao watu ni wajinga bwana!"
He then stepped closer to the camera, raising his shirt again with exaggerated confidence. DisplayING not only the firearm but also the scars marking his face, badges he seems to wear with defiance.
He then bursted into a chant, "Sisi ndio tunakuwanga ma goons sasa! Tumechukua bunduki! Mnatuua Ogunja, hatukubali bwana, hatukubali Gladys Wanga!"
After the outburst, he walked away toward a waiting Prado, where Governor Gladys Wanga stood wearing an orange T-shirt and cap, seemingly absorbing the unfolding tension.
Beneath the video, Saigonpunisher James wrote, "Before tufike, ambieni huyu muthiti atae upe hiyo mali yetu. Ndio members of the public waitie askari then tuanze investigations. Hapo failure to... waah, sisemi kitu." The warning was unmistakable.
What makes Saigon Punisher's message even more unsettling is the world he represents. He is part of a shadowy network of masked vigilantes that has carved a notorious reputation across Nairobi's crime-ridden estates.
Operating on a razor-thin line between justice and lawlessness, these figures run active Facebook pages where they post chilling threats to suspected criminals.
Their warnings are rarely empty. Some posts end with photos of lifeless bodies sprawled on dusty roads, crude weapons by their side-guns, pangas, and knives-"proof"," they claim, of missions completed.
The group functions more as a brotherhood than a hierarchy. They openly tag each other on Facebook, celebrating a shared identity that blends fear, admiration, and intimidation. Their communication is raw and public: suspected gang members are named, their photos exposed, and ultimatums issued. Some are told to reform. Others are condemned without negotiation.
And it doesn't stop there. These vigilantes also hunt down rogue officers, positioning themselves as both the hunters and the "balance" in a system they claim has failed ordinary citizens.
In this world of blurred lines, Saigonpunisher James continues to stand at the center part hero, part menace, entirely unpredictable.
