Ruto, Kindiki lead nation to mourn former Judge Mutava

President William Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki led the country in mourning former High Court judge Joseph Mbalu Mutava, the husband of Kibwezi East MP Jessica Nduku Mbalu, who died on Saturday morning.

Ruto took to his X where he said that he had been saddened by the death of the ex-Judge.

“We stand with Mheshimiwa Jessica Mbalu, MP Kibwezi East, following the loss of her beloved husband, and the entire Mbalu family as they mourn a man who meant everything to them,” he said.

“May God give his family, colleagues and all who knew him the strength to endure the loss and cherish his memory.”

On his part, DP Kindiki said that he was shocked to learn of his friend’s sudden death saying his soul to find peace in eternity.

“Deepest sympathies to his spouse Hon. Jessica Mbalu, the MP for Kibwezi East Constituency, and his entire family.”

His predecessor and the Democracy for Citizens Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua also mourned Mbalu saying the loss of a spouse is painful.

“Hon. Jessica Mbalu and your family, kindly accept my deepest sympathies at this difficult moment. Losing a loved one and a spouse is a painful ordeal,” said Gachagua.

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka while mourning Mutava said that he was a distinguished public servant who served Kenya with honour and integrity.

“He leaves behind a legacy of service in our judiciary, but it is at home where Mutava will be missed most; as a husband and as a father, and it is there that our thoughts and prayers are today.”

Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama siad that he was saddened by Mutava’s death describing him as a long-time family friend.

“On behalf of my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to our dear friend, Hon. Jessica Mbalu, on the painful loss of your beloved husband. May God comfort you, your family and loved ones during this difficult time, and grant you strength to bear this great loss,” he wrote on X.

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo mourned the former judge saying they schooled together adding that the family needs prayers after the recent loss of MP Nduku’s son.

Law Society of Kenya President Charles Kanjama mourned the ex-judge saying the society was saddened by his death.

“My heartfelt condolences to Mheshimiwa Jessica Mbalu, Mp  Kibwezi East. May God grant you and your family strength to endure the loss.”

The  ex-judge died on Saturday morning after falling ill on Friday in his Makueni home where he was rushed to the Makindu Hospital.

He died while receiving treatment and his body was later moved to the Lee Funeral home in Nairobi as his family began preparations for his interment.
