President William Ruto is currently in New York, USA, where he is leading a Kenyan delegation attending the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Ruto is accompanied by First Lady Rachel, Kenya Kwanza Alliance's foreign policy adviser Ababu Namwamba, economist David Ndii, PS Susan Mochache (Health) and PS Dr Julius Jwan (Education).

His entourage also includes legislators Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Aden Duale (Garissa) and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

Also in attendance is Kenya’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Ambassador, Martin Kimani.

The Head of State is scheduled to make his maiden speech at UNGA on Wednesday, September 21, and will also chair a meeting at the conference of African Heads of State on climate crisis (CAHOSCC).

CAHOSCC is mandated with coordinating Africa’s common position on matters of climate.

“Kenya is a committed member of the global community of nations. We share a strong interest in the preservation of peace, prosperity and dignity for all people and the protection of our planet and its resources,” tweeted Ruto.

UNGA started on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, and is expected to end on Monday, September 27.
