A family is asking for help to find their 10-year-old son who went missing three months ago.

Giftan Leon Omondi is said to have gone missing on Tuesday March 14 after his mother, Roseline Auma, sent him with Sh20 to get a haircut at a barbershop in Lucky Summer estate.

"This was in plans for me to take him to our upcountry home in Sigomere, Siaya county to enrol for school there and stay with my mother-in-law," said Auma when she visited The Standard offices in Nairobi.

The mother of six said Omondi was a Grade Four pupil at Heavies Centre Academy, while his father is a mechanic working in Meru county.

She said she searched for the boy in all city morgues and spoke with relatives and friends, but all in vain.

"I reported the matter at the local police station and booked under OB number 27/30/05/23," she said.

"Police assured me that they are searching for the boy and if found they will inform me. But this is taking so long," she added.

Auma is appealing for any information that could lead to the whereabouts of the boy.
