Nairobi governor race on as IEBC clears Polycarp Igathe, Johnson Sakaja

IEBC clears Senator Johnson Sakaja to vie for Nairobi governorship on UDA ticket in the August 9 election. [Esther Jeruto, Standard]

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Senator Johnson Sakaja and his running mate James Muchiri have been cleared to run for the seat on UDA ticket.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) cleared the two on Tuesday, June 7, three days after the commission gave a nod to the Polycarp Igathe - Philip Kaloki pair who are running for the seat on Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition ticket.
