Missing human right defender Caroline Mwatha.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has offered a Sh300,000 cash reward for anyone with information on missing human rights activist Caroline Mwatha.

Sonko appealed to anyone with details to contact the nearest police station or the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

Further, seven civic organisations will hold a night vigil on Monday evening from 4-9pm in honor of the missing Dandora human rights defender.

Amnesty International Executive Director Irungu Houghton is quoted saying that it was about time State comes up with deliberate and specific policies that implement the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights Defenders and to recognise, work with and protect human rights activists in Kenya.

Caroline disappeared on Wednesday last week.

She is believed to have been documenting cases of enforced disappearance and extrajudicial killings, including the  murder of six Dandora residents in October last year.

She is also a founder member of the Dandora Community Justice Centre, an organisation dealing with sex trafficking, unlawful police killings among others.
