Exactly 15 days before the general elections, a new poll by Green Agenda Company Limited (GALOC) has shown that Kilifi County governor Amason Kingi will win a re-election beat against his two rivals .
According to the research, Kingi of the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) win the race overwhelmingly by 72percent followed by former Labour minister Kazungu Kambi of Kadu Asili at 12.3 percent and Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro at 10.5percent.
The polls that were done between 13th June and 14th July 2017 had 4.2percent of the 508,068 Kilifi residents still undecided on who to vote for on the 8th of August elections.
"Through our findings, conducted through random sampling of 1700 residents in the seven sub counties in the county it emerged that Kingi would easily retain his seat," said Galoc Chief executive officer Ms beatrice Mugun while releasing the results at Baroness Hotel in Kilifi town.
In the opinion
In the opinion poll, majority of women (808) said they 83percent would vote for the incumbent against 12percent who supported Kambi whereas 5percent of the women supported Kilifi North MP.
Sixty one percent (61percent) of men (808) said they would vote for the incumbent, while 24percent supported the former Labour minister while 15percent sided with Mung'aro.
This sample plus/minus 2.9 percent margin of error of covered all the seven sub counties namely Ganze, Kaloleni, Kilifi South, Kilifi North, Magarini, Malindi and Rabai
