Exercise patience while counting of votes goes on

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is in the process of counting votes cast in the August 9 General Election.

The vote counting process is complete in most parts of the country and the results are known.

As forms 34A were being sent to IEBC public portal, Kenyans took the opportunity to interact with the results from each polling centre.

The portal is open to the public for transparency and to ensure a fair and credible election.

While anxiety over the presidential tally mounts, IEBC has stated that it has seven days within which to announce the presidential results.

Fake election results have been flagged by security agencies to ensure there is peace across the country during this process.

Candidates are also requested to keep their supporters calm and wait for IEBC to declare the winners.

Thus, media houses should keep their tally professional.

Instead of panicking and creating tension over election results, let's support IEBC by remaining calm and allowing it to do its work.

Remember, we are growing through this democratic event and different nations are watching to see how we conduct ourselves.

Let's remain peaceful, concede in case of defeat and celebrate responsively.
