President Uhuru Kenyatta in his address to the nation on Jamuhuri day celebrations earlier today spoke at length on what he called his "unshakable resolve" in the war against corruption. Kenyatta listed the many gains made by the investigative agencies and the office of the director of public prosecutions recently but also regretted that the judiciary was dampening the spirit of many Kenyans. The president observed that the courts were giving corruption suspects "ridiculously low bail terms" on matters touching on corruption.
