The police were again put on the spot after a Nairobi court temporarily barred the IG Joseph Boinnet and the Department of Criminal Investigations from publishing on social media photos of suspects who are yet to be charged over various criminal allegations. The petitioner argues that posting of suspects’ photos ignores the presumption of innocence rule. But the police say the pictures are taken when a decision to arraign the suspects is reached.
