5th October, 2018
Thursday, October 5, was bad day in office for one ‘street thief’ who was caught red-handed, trying to snatch a phone from passers by.
According to an amateur video seen by Standard Digital Videos, the said thief had invented a classic way of conning people along the streets of Nairobi, by disguising as a high school student.
At the time of his arrest by a visibly angry but forgiving mob, the young man was dressed in a white shirt that was neatly tucked in a black trouser, with a neatly fastened maroon tie, drawing the picture of a well-mannered and obedient student.
According to one of the mob, the ‘student’ stole a phone from a lady near Jamia Mosque but the exercise was thwarted.
In the video, the ‘student’ had a hard time proving to the mob that he is indeed a student, and which particular city school does he attend to.
It was a bad day in office, yes, but definitely a lucky day for him as the mob did not dissent on him.
So beware of conmen disguised as students along the streets of Nairobi.
