Traffic police officers caught on camera fighting beside the road

29th September, 2018

An undated video of two traffic police officers fighting over what is believed to be a bribe has surfaced online.
It is not clear where the video was recorded but the two officers can be seen struggling to fight over something that is firmly held by one of the officers.

The video was recorded in broad daylight and the National Police Service is yet to comment on the matter despite being tagged on Twitter.

Cases of bribery on Kenyan roads are a common occurrence and recently, President Uhuru Kenyatta made a raft of changes to the police service in a bid to improve its image and service delivery.

Among the changes introduced was new uniform that was bashed by netizens for ‘its not so good design'.

A section of Kenyans further stated that the uniforms should not have pockets to curb bribery.

Uhuru also announced that the Kenya Police Service will now be merged with the Administration Police.

“In order to eliminate waste, duplication, and overlap, we will integrate 39,680 police service and 24,572 administration police into general duty police offers under the command of Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police Service, leaving a total of 64, 252 police service general duty police given the unified command to offer better security for Kenyans,” said President Uhuru.
