One person has died in a landslide after being covered with rocks and soil in a family private quarry at Omogonchoro area along the Kisii Nyamira highway. 

Charles Nyakundi a father of four, was working at his quarry when a section of it caved in and buried him alive. 

Tom Ondieki a disaster management inspector in Nyamira county and other counterparts from Kisii county asked quarry workers to be vigilant especially during rainy season when the ground is soggy. The deceased body was recovered and taken to Kisii county hospital mortuary.
