Southend Mall, Langata demolished as NEMA cracks down on buildings on riparian lands

Early Wednesday morning, NEMA in conjunction with the County Government of Nairobi conducted a demolition operation at Southend mall Langata.

The mall has been under scrutiny since it’s construction with many arguing that it was on riparian land and that it was not safe.

Huge security presence was noted as the early morning demolitions continued. This comes a day after the demolition of a Shell petrol station in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

Southend Mall lawyers have faulted the demotion insisting that they had acquired stay orders.
