19th June, 2018

An internal audit on the maize delivered to the National Cereals and Produce Board depot silos in Eldoret, Kisumu, Moi’s bridge, Bungoma and Nakuru between October 2017 and April 2018 shows that NCPB staff colluded at weighbridges to facilitate traders supply maize at the expense of desperate farmers.  The audit says that a huge consignment of maize that is stored in the NCPB silos could be unfit for human consumption since it is of poor quality and mouldy.
