Two investigative agencies are tonight at war over their capacity to prosecute complex financial crimes. While the director of public prosecutions Noordin Hajji believes that detectives lack skills to mount watertight investigations, his counterpart at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Halakhe Waqo maintains that their officers are up to the task. The turf war played out Wednesday even as senators expressed concern about detectives’ inability to convict a single high profile corruption case since the Goldenberg scandal.
