Orengo vs Sifuna: Who Will Fly Linda Mwananchi's Presidential Ticket in 2027?

Despite receiving overwhelming endorsements during its nationwide tours, most recently in Nairobi, the Linda Mwananchi movement is facing a major test over who will fly its presidential ticket in the 2027 General Election.

Remarks by Siaya Governor James Orengo about his presidential ambitions have sparked fresh debate within the movement, with attention now turning to whether the outfit will settle on Orengo or its de facto leader, Edwin Sifuna.

The movement also faces a strategic dilemma over which political party will provide the vehicle for its presidential bid and whether to work with other opposition parties in its effort to challenge President William Ruto.
