DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his efforts to build a united opposition ahead of the 2027 General Election, turning his attention to President William Ruto's Rift Valley stronghold by courting KANU chairman Gideon Moi.
Gachagua is urging Moi to join the United Opposition and rally Rift Valley communities behind a broader political alliance bringing together leaders from different regions to challenge President Ruto at the ballot.
The former Deputy President maintained that his political differences with President Ruto should not be interpreted as hostility towards the wider Rift Valley community, calling for unity among regional leaders despite their political affiliations.
Gachagua made the remarks at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County, where he hosted a delegation of leaders from Gilgil Constituency in Nakuru County.
His latest appeal signals an effort to consolidate opposition support in the Rift Valley, a region that has traditionally been a key political base for President Ruto, as political realignments gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
