Butere Girls Play "It Is Well" Gains New Attention After Utumishi Fire Tragedy in Gilgil
Eight years ago, Butere Girls High School staged It Is Well, a play depicting a fictional police-linked institution, Recce Memorial Academy, destroyed by fire after bullying, exclusion and poor supervision spiraled out of control. Today, the production is being revisited following the deadly fire at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil that claimed the lives of 16 students and left several others injured.
