Division grows as Linda Mwananchi leaders clash over 2027 strategy

A looming split has emerged within the Linda Mwananchi movement, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, as its top leaders remain divided over the group's political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The internal disagreement centres on whether the movement should join the united opposition coalition or remain independent and build its own political identity. While one faction supports working with established opposition leaders, another argues that the youth-led movement should chart its own path without aligning itself with seasoned politicians.

The growing divisions are raising questions about the future of the movement, with political observers warning that the wrangles could erode the momentum and public appeal that helped Linda Mwananchi gain prominence.
