The National Transport and Safety Authority's (NTSA) controversial 2026 vehicle regulations, which require mandatory inspection of all vehicles older than four years, have been challenged in court.
Constitutional lawyer Charles Mugane has filed a petition seeking to stop the implementation of the regulations, arguing that they should not take effect. The legal challenge comes despite NTSA's decision to suspend the rollout of the rules following widespread public outcry.
The court is expected to determine whether the regulations can proceed or remain suspended pending the hearing and determination of the petition.
