DIG Lagat on the spot over missing police CHAN funds

Deputy Inspector General of Police David Lagat is once again at the center of controversy, this time facing allegations of mismanagement and loss of millions meant for police officers who worked tirelessly to provide security during the recently concluded CHAN tournament. This scandal emerges while the murder case of Albert Ojwang still hangs over him, with the courts having approved prosecution proceedings that could push him out of office. Lagat is now battling growing resentment from his juniors, who accuse him of presiding over a massive per diem rip-off.
