Chaos as Kericho Governor Erick Mutai is impeached again

Chaos rocked Kericho County Assembly after Members of County Assembly voted to impeach Governor Erick Mutai for the second time, citing abuse of office and financial impropriety linked to the irregular payment of Sh85 million. The heated session was marked by confrontations between rival camps, with security officers called in to restore order as some ward representatives engaged in shouting matches. Mutai, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing, termed the move politically motivated and vowed to challenge the decision in court, setting the stage for yet another legal and political battle in Kericho’s leadership.
