Linda Mwananchi Brigade takes campaign to Meru, attacks Ruto over unfulfilled promises

31st August, 2026

Two weeks after their political tour of Homa Bay descended into chaos, leaders under the Linda Mwananchi Brigade have shifted their campaign to Meru County.

The leaders made a series of stopovers across the county, using the rallies to criticise President William Ruto’s administration over what they described as failure to fulfil key promises that propelled the Kenya Kwanza coalition to power.

As they seek to strengthen their political base ahead of the 2027 General Election, the leaders questioned the President’s record in office, arguing that his performance so far offers little justification for a second term.

The brigade’s Meru tour comes as political formations increasingly position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with leaders seeking to rally support by highlighting what they say are gaps in the government’s delivery of its campaign pledges.
