New party linked to Linda Mwananchi movement sparks debate over ODM's future

As the country edges closer to the electioneering period, new political formations are beginning to emerge, with the People's Renaissance Movement now officially registered as the latest party on the scene.

The outfit is alleged to have links to the Linda Mwananchi brigade, though its leaders have remained guarded about the relationship.

Its emergence has sparked fresh political debate, especially over claims that it could be fronted by an ODM splinter group. If true, the move could signal growing internal realignments within Orange Democratic Movement ahead of the next polls.

Analysts say the timing of the registration is significant, coming as parties reposition themselves, build alliances and court support bases before campaign season gains momentum.

Whether the People's Renaissance Movement becomes a serious political force or a bargaining chip in wider coalition talks remains to be seen.
