The battle for the soul of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is escalating into an open internal standoff.

Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and his allies have dismissed threats of expulsion, insisting they will not be silenced in their opposition to a proposed UDA–ODM alliance.

The group, which toured Busia County to popularize its agenda, accused a rival faction allied to party leadership of betraying ODM’s ideals for personal gain, branding them political opportunists.
