Police recover grenade, arrest two suspects

Two suspects have been arrested and a grenade and ammunition recovered from their house in Kawangware in Nairobi.

The two, a middle-aged man and his sister, were arrested by police officers based at a chief’s office in Kawangware following a tip-off from the public.

Nairobi PPO said the suspects, Samuel Kihara and Wairimu Njuguna, are being detained at the Riruta police station.

He said the two would be arraigned before court after the investigations are completed to answer to terrorism charges.

At the same time, boda boda operators have lynched two suspected motorcycle thieves in Kenyenya District, Kisii County.

The angry motorcycle operators lynched Davis alias Toto, 19, and

Rosana alias Babu after a morning chase. Witnesses told The Standard one of the suspects is alleged to have stolen a motorcycle a month ago before disappearing to Mombasa.
