Reigning Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Women's Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) Aurelia Opondo scored as Lakers Hockey Club came from behind twice to hold United States International University of Africa (USIU-A) Spartans 2-2 at City Park on Saturday.

Naomi Kemunto gave the hosts a sixth minute lead before Kenyan international Alice Owiti restored parity for the visitors in the 12th minute.

In the second quarter, the university students once again went ahead through Brandy Wakhisi's goal in the 20th minute before Opondo leveled the scores once again for Lakers for a 2-2 tie at the break.

Despite an explosive opening half that witnessed four field goals, the match was rather dry in the final half as the match ended 2-2 after 60 minutes.

The draw leaves Lakers still unbeaten after three matches. They remain fourth with eight points after two wins and two draws.

USIU Spartans on the other hand have five points from one win and two draws ahead of their match against former champions Blazers on Sunday.

In the men's Premier League, Western Jaguars picked their third straight win after thrashing visiting Wazalendo 4-1.

The win moved them second on the log with nine points, two points off leaders Kenya Police who have played two more games.

USIU men on the other hand held defending champions Butali Sugar Warriors to a 2-2 draw.

The draw leaves Butali fourth with eight points same as Wazalendo who have an inferior goal difference.
