Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has unveiled new strategic plans to fight insecurity in banditry prone areas.

Speaking at Lokori General Service Unite(GSU) Camp in Turkana, CS Kindiki said the officers had flashed out all bandits who were hiding in the ravines, gorges, valleys and escarpments.

"Our security officers on the frontline in the ongoing Joint National Police Service and Kenya Defence Forces 'Maliza Uhalifu Operation' in the North Rift Valley Counties have executed their assignment with utmost professionalism, diligence and patriotism," he said.

In a bid to handle modern day security concerns,Kindiki has also revealed that the government had allocated Sh 20 billion to equip the security team with technology.

Accordto Kindiki, the State has commission four new administrative units in Turkana County including Suguta, Lokiriama, Aroo and Lokichogio Sub-counties to facilitate accessible, affordable, and expeditious delivery of services in the areas.

Additionally, schools in Turkana East Constituency that were raided and vandalised by bandits have received Sh 100million for renovation.

The schools are Napeitom, Nadome, Lokidong'iru and Ng'ilukia.

The Kenya Defence Forces and National Youth Service officers will help in rebuilding the institutions.

Kindiki urged the Security officers to remain vigilant in the bandit prone areas to ensure that criminals do not regroup.
