Elgeyo Marakwet has received three fire engines from Rotary Club and Kootabmyoot, a charitable organisation based in London.
Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wesley Rotich visited London at the invitation of the Workington Rotary Club and Kootabmyoot where he oversaw the loading of the engines to a ship at Tilburry port.
The fire engines are expected to arrive in Mombasa end of July.
The county has been relying on fire engines from the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County during emergencies.
"Thank you so much Kipnyango Seroney and Jackson Simatei our special professionals in London for your time and support. I am proud of you and I have gained from your experience and network. I now have an idea of what life is like in the UK," said Mr Rotich.
The governor attended meetings in London, Wales, and Workington Cumbria
In Cumbria, the governor told the Rotarians that the county had experienced five fire incidences in the last six months that damaged property worth millions of shillings in five schools and eight urban centres.
Workington Rotary Club International chairperson Ken Kirkwood pledged to train county staff how to operate the fire engines.
"Our partner Operation Florian will provide training as those fire engines are not like ordinary vehicles. The drivers must get special training and we will provide that. We will add more vehicles and hospital equipment," said Mr Kirkwood.
Rotich thanked the diaspora professionals saying their support is clear evidence of the power of networks and partnerships.
"I will continue to work with you, especially in promoting the county's resources. I have now set up a resource mobilisation office to attract investors and partners and you are welcome too," he said.
Simatei who is a project manager at Transport for London, praised the governor's initiative for the fire engines and promotion of the county.
"We will do everything possible to support your projects. We have resources and connections here," he said.
"I thank so much the outgoing British High Commissioner Jane Marriott for the support to fast track the visas," said Rotich.
Homa Bay and Kiambu counties have benefited from fire engines and ambulances through the Operation Florian main stores at Washington Hall, Lancashire Fire and Rescues International Training Centre.
Homa Bay received two equipped Volvo Fire Appliances for potential donation to the communities.
