"Unhappy" Salah posts update amid exit links

Mohamed Salah has remained upbeat despite claims that the Liverpool superstar is "unhappy" and could be sold by the Premier League champions

On the weekend that the Reds secured a stunning 7-0 win over Crystal Palace, with Salah coming off the bench to grab a brace, it emerged that the Egypt forward is reportedly weighing up his future at Anfield.

According to the Liverpool striker's former international team-mate Mohamed Aboutrika, Salah is angry he wasn't made captain against FC Midtjylland.

And with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona also keeping tabs on his situation, the future remains uncertain for Salah - but he's seemingly relaxed about the saga.

Posting an update on his social media accounts on Monday, Salah posted an image of himself smiling - and without a caption.

The 28-year-old opted against addressing the rumours, having recently opened the door to Real Madrid and Barcelona in an interview with Spanish publication AS, saying his future is in Liverpool's hands.

And Aboutrika added fuel to the fire with his recent comments over Salah's situation at Anfield.

I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that would never affect his performance on the field," Aboutrika told beIN Sports.

"I know that Salah is not happy in Liverpool, he told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public.

"One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he was not the captain against Midtjylland."

He added: "If Salah was a player at Real Madrid or Barcelona, and playing at the same level as Liverpool, he would've won the Ballon d'Or, and it is normal for a Spanish newspaper to ask Salah about Real Madrid and Barcelona.

"In my opinion, Liverpool are considering selling Salah for economic purposes.

"I do not have any influence over Salah's decisions, he is my friend and brother, and he is smart enough to know what is best for him."
