Arsenal ready to rival Manchester United in the race to Sanches

Arsenal is ready to rival Manchester United in the race to take highly-rated Benfica youngster Renato Sanches.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League giants throughout the season, and could make the switch in the summer.

Any deal is expected to be worth in the region of around £46million, and Louis van Gaal is unconcerned that United's failure to secure Champions League football could scupper the transfer, according to the Daily Mail.

Defeat at Tottenham on Sunday left the Red Devils four points behind Manchester City in the race for the top four.
