Shujaa tractor that can be used by women and aged

Shujaa tractor is a 10.5 HP tractor with an intention of up grading to 25 HP.

This tractor was developed in the year 2017 after an extensive research.

Its development was inspired by the need to help the small scale farmers work efficiently within the cost limits and increase agricultural productivity.

Some of the unique aspects of the tractor are; it can be used for almost all farming activities within the small scale set up.

These activities are ploughing, harrowing, weeding, spraying, transportation and pumping water for irrigation.

The tractor can plough one acre of land at a rate of fours and in a day up to two acres.

The performance is very good as it gives a very good land operation finish with minimum soil compaction.

Maintenance cost is very affordable based on its cost. We have trained SMEs on the project spread in 10 pilot Counties in Lower Eastern, Nyanza and Western regions of the country.

Spare parts and implements are fabricated locally by our trained team of SMEs.

Routine servicing and maintenance will be required for efficient operation.

The tractor requires to use six litres of diesel fuel to plough 2 acres in day.

The big machines will require more fuel consumption and its tare and ware is much higher.

Some of the challenges farmers might anticipate are lack of trained operators and SMEs within their regions to help in both repairs and operation.

The operator must be a person of sound mind with an age of over 18 years and trained.

The operator must be licensed by the relevant authority.

The tractor is currently costing KSh 510,000.00 but once a complete assembly line is set up, we anticipate the cost to go down to KSh. 350,000.00
