Matata, a crew based in Oslo, Norway, have had a successful run since they hit the airwaves. The 5-man band comprised of Freddy Milanya, Festus Mwenda, Richard Mathu, Marcus Ojiambo and Ken Kimathi made history last month when they won their first PMVA award, two for that matter.

In the 2020 PMVA list, Matata led the pack with four nods as they were nominated in Best Breakthrough Video with Mare Mare, Best Group with Gengetone Love and Best Choreography with Kata and Ruracio in the same category. They went ahead and clinched Best Choreography with Kata and Best Group of the Year with Gengetone Love.
