Abolish studies on the days of worshipping

Chapter four of the constitution of The Republic of Kenya (2010) articulates human rights and freedom under the bill of rights. In article 32(2),”Every person has the right, either individually or in community with others, in public or in private, to manifest any religion or belief through worship, practice, teaching or observance of a day of worship.”


In reference to the above clause, it is evidential that the right of worship in most of learning institutions in Kenya is violated thus schooling on the worshipping days is normal to most people. For both private and public schools in Kenya, to operate on these days has become normal. On the same note, parents pay for these studies termed as ‘Remedial’. This act violates the constitution of Kenya and denies learners the right to worship and honor their worshiping days. This is done in the name of putting extra efforts to better the results. Well, this might be true but on the other hand, what kind of generation is being brought up?
