Golfers rally in Nairobi to support children's education

More than 100 golfers gathered in Nairobi for a charity tournament supporting children's education, school nutrition and access to learning materials in underserved communities in the country.

The initiative focuses on needs that can affect children's access to education, including school fees, learning materials and nutrition.

It will support school fee subsidies, provide learning materials and support school nutrition programmes for children in underserved communities.

Business leaders, corporate partners and philanthropists joined the Golf for a Brighter Future Charity Tournament, held on Friday at the Kenya Railway Golf Club in Nairobi.

Bridge International Academies Foundation hosted the tournament under its #NoChildLeftBehind initiative.

“Golf for a Brighter Future is about much more than a day on the golf course. It is about coming together around something that matters deeply to all of us, the future of our children. Achieving quality education for every child requires partnerships, investment and a collective commitment from different sectors of society,” said Bridge International Academies Foundation Group Managing Director Reuben Wambugu.

“Today's turnout demonstrates the power of that collaboration, and our commitment remains firmly focused on ensuring more children have the opportunity to learn, thrive and build a better future,” he added.

The foundation serves more than 22,000 learners across Kenya's underserved communities.

It also runs community schools in 30 of the country's 47 counties and says it has served more than 1.2 million children since Bridge International Academies was founded in 2008.
