'Back order on Form Four papers'

Kenya: Endebess MP Robert Pukose has asked all stakeholders in the education sector to support the State directive on the unconditional release of held Form Four certificates.

Dr Pukose said officials of Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) should not oppose the order as it is for the interest of poor students.

Speaking in his constituency, Pukose said there should be no debate over the order on releasing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam certificates.

He advised Kuppet bosses to engage the Government on how schools can be paid the fee arrears.

"I plead with my Kuppet brothers, let them engage the Government on the mechanism of paying for those debts owed by school leavers. But allow the former students to pick their certificates," he said.

He accused the union of insincerity and faulting the directive on the pretext of not being consulted before the order was released.
