Makenzi's starving followers to be held in cells for 14 days

Police in Malindi have been allowed to detain controversial preacher Paul Nthenge Makenzi for 14 more days to allow them complete investigations into the preacher's alleged cult-like activities believed to have led to the deaths of 14 people.

The pastor formerly of Good News International Church which shut its doors in 2019 will remain in custody together with six of his followers as seven others will be held for counselling before they are released.
