Last week grinning La Liga President Javier Tebas Medrano was in Kenya to sign a partnership deal with the Kenyan Premier League. Over samosas and sausages at the Sarova Stanley Hotel, he spoke a lot of Spanish, claiming the deal would be the beginning of exciting times for Kenyan football, and La Liga as well.
I didn’t, and still don’t, believe what they said. To begin with, I don’t believe a La Liga president can fly all the way from Madrid to come sign some partnership deal in Nairobi. See? This is the president of the world’s most entertaining football league.
