A senior official of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (Nock) will spend three days in police custody after a magistrate declined to release him on bail.
Nairobi Principal Magistrate Teresia Nyangena ruled the Director of Public Prosecutions had proved sufficient grounds to warrant Bernard Ekumbo's detention until a probe into his involvement in the Rio Olympics scam is complete.
Mr Ekumbo is Nock vice chairman and was the deputy chef-de-mission for Team Kenya at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
