Is Africa its own worst enemy? The recent move by Somalia to ban miraa imports from Kenya was uncalled for. The Somali government claimed that it declared the ban after Meru Governor Peter Munya undermined Somalia by visiting Somaliland.
I think this was just an excuse. However, African countries should know that they need each other. The ban hurt Kenyan farmers who depend solely on miraa and should never have happened in the first place.
