Involve us in war on graft, church leaders tell State

Religious leaders want to be involved in the fight against corruption, which they said was getting out of hand.

Speaking under the auspices of The Alliance of Protestant Bishops and Pastors, the clerics said graft levels in the country had reached alarming levels.

The religious leaders made the remarks in Thika at the weekend where they marked the end of a 40-day fasting period to pray for the country in the wake of increased corruption and political intolerance ahead of 2017 General Election.

Led by the Calvary Chosen Centre General Overseer Bishop David Kariuki Ngari (pictured), the church leaders said even though President Uhuru Kenyatta had tried his best to fight the menace, little success had been achieved.

They said the fact that graft was soaring despite the President's efforts necessitated their offer to extend a helping hand to him and his government.
