Varsities competing to raise more cash

Universities are now competing to get students because their focus is generating cash rather than imparting knowledge. They are opening campuses in almost every town in the country. The relevance of courses offered is of secondary importance to them.

The University of Nairobi shocked me when it came up with a policy that students must bind their work at the library in its main campus. Although the university may generate some revenue this way, it does not add any value to reports and theses.
