Couple mourns their baby gone missing soon after delivery

A couple in Nakuru had their joy cut short after their new born baby disappeared minutes after a nurse allegedly took her, later pronouncing her dead.

The distressed mother, Elizabeth Adhiambo, who gave birth at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital claims her girl was alive when a nurse picked her on Thursday morning from her bed at the ward.

The baby’s mother said the nurse later returned minus the new born and said the baby had died.

“At 7am, my child was asleep and I decided to go and wash some clothes. The father arrived to see our baby and we woke her up. I even tried to breast feed her,” she said.

Her husband, John Owino said he was delighted when his wife informed him they had a baby girl. The couple said their baby could not be dead and reported the case at Bondeni Police Station.
